FAQ last updated: 7th April 2003 The FAQ answers the following questions:
Who are The Santinists?
Who are The Santinists then? What you mean you got this far and you still have no idea who we are? We are a fan group formed in celebration of the late PC Eddie Santini and the top actor, the definetly not late, Michael Higgs. Eddie Santini was a character in the top TV cop show, The Bill, for just over a year and in that time he caused more controversy than Sun Hill nick had ever seen before. Wait I'm confused, I've never heard of The Bill what's that? Well shame on you! You're missing out on a brilliant show. The Bill has been running for 18 years now and follows the police officers of Sun Hill police station. (Sun Hill is meant to be suburb somewhere in East London). It shows in many countries around the world but is most popular in its native Great Britain and Australia where viewing figures for the show are rising all the time. The Bill in the UK is currently showing on ITV at 8pm on Thursdays though it's always worth checking the schedules just in case. The Bill is shown on Tuesdays and Saturdays in Australia who are now only 9 months behind. For more information I strongly advise you visit the Official Site first. The official web site was also where The Santinists were created before the forum and chatroom were cruely taken away from us! Now you can find most members of The Santinists here at Mike's fab forum! You can tell who we are, as most of us use the "Long Live Eddie" sign off when we post messages on the forum. So why do you like this Eddie character if he is so evil? Good question. We don't like Eddie in some ways, in that we do not condone what Eddie did to Rosie Fox, but we do all agree that Eddie Santini, was one of the best characters The Bill has seen for a long time and any episode that featured Eddie was going to be a good one. There are of course the other factors, for example that he is drop dead gorgeous, he has the best leather jacket in history and that Michael Higgs is one of the best up and coming actors in this country. Rumour has it that he has already been approached to star in two movies! Remember: we saw him first! Who are you? Moi? Well I'm a slightly obsessed 18 year old that loves TV bad guys! On the forum you will find me as Scooby and yes I am female! Many people find hard it to understand why a female would choose Scooby as a nickname. You see I like The Fun Lovin' Criminals and when I was trying to come up with a name, the song Scooby Snacks by the FLC was playing in the background. Any clearer yet? No? Oh well I tried. Ok, I'm going to stop asking about you, you're scaring me! Who are the other members of The Santinists? As it currently stands, there is a total of 18 members in the group, whom after much persistence have all now completed their member profiles which you can read in the Santinists section. Don't you just hate those FAQs where the author tries to be humorous but falls flat on their face as they aren't funny at all? Yeah I do actually, what's your point? Oh...nothing. So where can I see Michael Higgs at the moment? Always keep an eye out on the schedules for UK Gold. They show The Bill every week day and there's always a good chance they'll be somewhere within 1998 to 1999 time range! Check out Latest News where you can find out the latest news about where Michael will be appearing. When was the fan group formed? We formed in April 2000, which is when I actually first joined The Bill forum (You see I don't waste any time!). I saw that there was lots of fan groups for other characters and so got together with CC2000 and we formed our own group. I love the name, who came up with that? Well our honorary Santinist and one of two male members of the group (You don't have to lust after Eddie to join the group you know! Come on guys!!), Jamie (Alan Smithee on the forum) choose the name after much discussion between The Santinists and Santini's Stars. Well actually there was no discussion, Santini's Stars was an awful choice of name. So The Santinists won and we are very grateful to Jamie for choosing such a brilliant name! How about the signoff, what is it and who came up with it? A sign off is something used on the forum when members post messages. They end a message with their sign offs for each group. For example, you may notice that I use more than one sign off when I post a message. That's because not only am I a member of The Santinists, I'm also a member of many other fan groups. The sign off for The Santinists is 'Long Live Eddie', I came up with it and to be honest it has no specific meaning: we just didn't bother coming up with a better one! So what were Eddie's first and last episodes? His first episode was Storyboards, which was first broadcast in January 1998 and his last episode was the 90 minute special shown in April 2000: The Trial of Eddie Santini, although he had left officially before in Kiss Off Part 2 which shows how Eddie ended up on trial. This was broadcast in July 1999. Ok sounds good, I'm ready to join the group but how?
