Michael Higgs

Michael Higgs, was born on Feb 14th 1962 in Birmingham. He has one younger brother and sister and an older brother. He and his family moved to Surrey in 1974 then to Looe in Cornwall in 1975. Michael went to Technical College in Plymouth, then moved to London in the early Eighties where he worked for Marquee Recording Studios before eventually going to Webber Douglas Drama school in the mid-eighties. From then on he has successfully made a career out of acting. Michael has been described by people as an intelligent and thoughtful person, though he does share qualities with Eddie!! He would however describe himself as indecisive and worried about commitment. "I'm just so worried about commitment," he says. "Even when I was offered the part in The Bill I wasn't sure if I should take it but then I'm always like that with jobs. "If I have to commit myself to anything lasting longer than four months, I begin to worry." When refering to the Rosie/Eddie storyline, Michael says: "I'm the shy, sensitive sort, I might flirt gently with someone from time to time but I wouldn't dream of making anyone feel uncomfortable." Michael enjoys football and most sports. For relaxation, he recommends yoga and he also likes to play chess. Although he is into alternative therapy, Michael certainly isn't a new age type. He likes a drink with his mates and also enjoys eating out, going to the cinema and theatre and also playing guitar. He is married to Caroline Catz who played Rosie Fox in The Bill and they last year had a son together named Sonny. He had a very small part in Notting Hill in 1998 Other TV appearances include Eastenders, Chalk Face and Between The Lines and his Mum has been so impressed by his acting skills that she joined her local amateur dramatic group!
